Halfway between Cavaillon (to the east) and Manosque (to the west), is the town of Apt, a town in the center of the Luberon area.
Apt was founded on the old Domitian road (Via Domitia). Born from the ancient Gallo-Roman city "Apta Juilia" founded by Julius Caesar in 45 BC.
Today, vestiges of the ancient roman city still remain in the basement of the city. You can find them in dedicated museums or even in certain shops that have set up these ancient places to settle there.
